Wow, that really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I guess it still feels more like babysitting than the hassle we are prepared (fingers crossed) for.
We managed to have a productive and relaxing first day at home with the baby. In addition to baby care, we also did two loads of laundry, picked up perscriptions, edited 300 of the photos taken in the last three days, cleanned the kitchen (including wiping under the burners), took out the garbage/recylcing, ran the dishwasher and Hass even had time to browse the local camera store.
Our meals have not yet suffered from having the baby around, she slept peacefully while we dined with candle-light and a baby monitor. The menu included a salad with a homemade Aleppo/Dill dressing. Followed by Mac & Cheese (from a box) with quorn dog slices, and a side of buttered peas.
So far it's been all roses and sunshine with our perfect little angel baby. The other shoe should be dropping any second now (most likely in form of projectile infant excretions) . . .
